Both the before and after pictures shown are of the back of the house. A family room was added off the kitchen with access to the backyard. The new staircase is located in the new family room and goes up to a second floor sitting room that opens onto the deck shown. A partial second story with two bedrooms and a bath is also shown in the after picture.
